(KABC) -- San Bernardino County firefighters on Thursday used snowcat vehicles to reach the scene of a burning home in Lake Arrowhead after multiple reports of a "large explosion," officials said. Videos showed rubble and debris from the rowhouses strewn across the streets in front of and behind the homes. On Thursday after witnesses say a man threw something in the restaurant located at 2 West Colorado Blvd., the Pasadena Police Department stated in a news release.

Alicea told the Free Press she heard the explosion while working Saturday afternoon and ran outside, thinking there was an incident near the store. The governor announced that the state was bringing in more snow plows and road crews to help clear roads and he authorized the California National Guard to mobilize for disaster response. With many roads in the area impassible due to snow, firefighters used snowplows to gain access the single-family home, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

"We want to advise the public that this is an active investigation and Winters Lane is a private road, only open to the residents and their guests," the news release said. Police said they found three deceased individuals as well as three critically injured individuals, who were transported to an area hospital for treatment. One of the victims later died, while the two other survivors remain hospitalized. Neighbors and other witnesses reported seeing debris launched in the air, where it later fell into their yards and on both sides of U.S.-23, but no other homes were damaged in the explosion.
